Tenerife is the largest and most populated island of the seven Canary
Islands. It is also the most populated island of Spain, with a land area of 2,034.38 square kilometres (785 sq mi) and 898,680 inhabitants, 43 percent of the total population of the
Canary
Islands. Tenerife is the largest and most populous island of
Macaronesia.
Approximately five million tourists visit Tenerife each year, the most visited island of the archipelago. It is one of the most important tourist destinations in
Spain and the world. Tenerife hosts one of the world's largest carnivals and the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is working to be designated
UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World.
Tourism is the most prominent industry in the Canaries, which are one of the major tourist destinations in the world.
Tenerife is not hydrogen ready as we write, hence clean fleet
operators will have to seek alternative handling facilities to
comply with the IMO's
2040 target.

2ND
LEG - At
a speed of 13 knots the second leg of the hydrogen
powered zero carbon voyage
would take just over ten days to complete, free of emissions.
The demonstration of ZEWT
technology in action, could help speed up the transition to
non polluting waterborne
transport. These projections are only a guide. Many of the
ports of call could be bypassed completely to give us a
shorter passage.
